BOx THE APP

Download the Bottle Opener x App and login or create an account

After you login you will be asked to setup your first BOx.

Click “Setup” and follow the on screen instructions:

STEP 1: Press and hold the BOx button on your opener for 10 seconds or until the red light appears.

STEP 2:  Go to Wi-Fi settings and select “BOx_XXXXXXXX”

STEP 3:  Return to the BOx App to complete the registration of your device by entering your personal internet connection credentials (name and password)

If the light on your BOX turns off, connection to the internet is successful

In case the light on your BOx is blinking continuously, the BOx failed to connect to the Internet:

1- Click once on the blinking light

2- Click on RETRY

3- The app will direct you to STEP 2 for you to setup your BOx again

Tips :

1- Make sure to enter the correct  Name (SSID) and Password of your Internet connection

2- Ensure your personal internet connection is Active, Visible and is not firewall protected.

3- Only 1 BOx can be linked to only 1 account

To be able to login into the BOx app and connect your BOx opener you need to create an account.

You can either create an account using your email or by Facebook login.

To adjust or update your account details go to  settings sections in the app.

BOx app is available in both Apple store and Google play (Android)

Running on mobile or tablet using ( iOS 7+ or Android 4.3+ )

To download the app, go to your app store and search for: Bottle Opener x / BOx

In case your BOx opener keeps blinking, click once on the blinking light:

1-Go to Settings

2-Choose your BOx opener (If no BOx opener appears click on add new BOx)

3-Swipe on your BOx opener until settings appear

4-Click on Adjust Wi-Fi settings

5-Follow the 3 Steps process to register your BOx on the internet

Tip:

Make sure to enter the correct  name (SSID) and password of your Internet connection, make sure your personal internet connection is active, visible and is not firewall protected.

In case the light on your opener does not turn on or blink only once:

1- Remove battery for 10 second to fully reset your BOx .

2- After putting back in the correct position click once and hold for 10 seconds, until red light appears. 3- Go to settings and connect your BOx ( Details Below)

Tip: Make sure not to double click, in case you double click wait for 2 mins before trying again.

In case your BOx still doesn't turn on, make sure your battery is not low on energy or contact us directly at BOx@bottleopenerx.com

CONNECTING YOUR BOx

Tip:

BOx will blink continuously  in case it is not able to connect to the internet during setup.

Click once on the light button and retry to setup your opener (Follow section ISSUE CONNECTING MY BOx )

In case the light on your opener does not appear when you click on your opener.

Please remove battery wait for 10 seconds and put back. In case issue persists your battery might be low in voltage and need replacements.

Tip:

Replace battery using only AAA Alkaline battery

You can register on your account as many BOx openers as you wish

Go to setting and click on Add BOx opener, to register your new BOx

Tip 1: You can change the name of your BOx under the settings section of your app

Tip 2: Your BOx opener cannot be installed on multiple accounts, it needs to be deleted first from the main account before registering or installing on a new account.

You need to register your Wi-Fi credentials only once.

Tip: BOx can save up to 3 Wi-Fi credentials and will connect automatically to them.

To register a new Wi-Fi on your BOx or adjust the password of your current Wi-Fi, go to settings, select your BOx and click on Adjust Wi-Fi and follow instructions.

It is possible to connect BOx on a mobile network. Please follow below steps :

1- Make sure your phone is connected to an available data plan that allows Hot Spot sharing

2- Activate the phone or tablet hot spot and make its Wi-Fi visible

3- Go to settings and choose your BOx device

4- Click on adjust my Wi-Fi settings and follow the setup instructions

5- In STEP 3 of the setup process: enter the mobile phone Hot Spot name and password

Tip : Make sure your mobile device has a visible Wi-Fi hot spot connection

If the counter on your BOx app is not updating when you open a bottle make sure :

1-Your BOx opener is connected to the internet ( Check FAQ section: Red light blinks only once )

2-Your Mobile phone or tablet is connected to the internet.

BOx THE OPENER

Remove the top case of the BOx by unscrewing the 2 bolts using the provided allen key wrench 2.5mm. Insert the provided AAA battery correctly, tighten carefully back the BOx top case.

Use only AAA alkaline battery, make sure to store BOx in dry and cool place, avoid long exposure in extreme temperatures both hot and cold.

Make sure to dispose used batteries in the correct recycling facility.

The BOx opener is not water resistant, please avoid contact with water or any liquid.

If your BOx comes in contact with water DO NOT CLICK THE BUTTON OR OPEN A BEER. Remove the battery and allow the opener to dry completely before attempting to use again.

BOx is designed to let you open your bottle with only one hand.

Follow the below steps to fix :

1- Click once on the blinking light

2- Go to settings on your app

3- Choose your BOx opener (If no BOx opener appears click on add new BOx)

4- Swipe on your BOx opener until settings appear

5- Click on Adjust Wi-Fi settings

6- Follow the 3 Steps process to register your BOx on the internet

Tip:

1 blink followed by 2 blinks (after approx. 15 seconds) :

BOx has successfully registered and connected to the internet, your opened bottle and cheers will be updated automatically on the app.

1 blink followed by 5 blinks (after approx. 45 seconds):

BOx has successfully registered but FAILED to connect to the internet. The data will be saved on your BOx opener, it will be automaticly updated on your app, next time you connect your BOx to the internet.

If the red light remains on your BOx is in Setup/Hot Spot mode : It is ready to connected to your device

The red light will remain on for 7 min to allow you enough time to connect your BOx, during this time BOx will not register any new bottle opened.

Tip : In case your BOx turned into Setup/Hot Spot mode while you open your bottle, wait for 7min or remove the battery to make sure your can register your open bottle

To reset your BOx remove the battery for 10 seconds

B CHAT

To create a chat group click on the B-Chat icon on your app

1- Invite your friends to join your chat group using any of the available messaging apps

2- A link will be generated for your chat group and sent to your friends to invite them into the chat group

3- Click create and get ready to start cheering ! 

Tip 1 : Your chat group name is randomly generated from our system, it can be modified in the settings section of your chat group 

Tip 2: To join your chat group: Your friends must click on the link you provided and sign up into BOx or use their Facebook credentials. They can access the chat group either by the BOx web app or by downloading the BOx app . 

NB: To have full access on the B Chat functionality it is recommended to download the BOx app  

You can invite your friends into your chat group by clicking on chat settings icon and clicking ADD 

Tip: To join your chat group: Your friends must click on the link you provided and sign up into BOx or use their Facebook credentials. They can access the chat group either by the BOx web app or by downloading the BOx app . 

To have full access on the B Chat functionality it is recommended to download the BOx app  

Smart cheers pictures are sent only when opening a bottle. When you open a bottle your smart cheers will be sent to all your active chat groups

Tip: If you wish that your chat group stops receiving your smart cheers, swipe on your chat group and click mute

You can stop sending your smart cheers by muting your chat groups.

To share your location in your chat group, you only need to click on the LOCATION PIN emoticon and your location will be automatically shared. 

Tip: Make sure to ALLOW BOx to access your location settings
